Michigan

Ann Arbor -- A nice series of chots of downtown Ann Arbor. Bit of a fish-eye lens effect, and none are very expansive or inspiring views, but they update constantly and seem to be reliable. There seems to be one camera for each cardinal direction. Here's the site.videobugvideobug

Detroit -- Finally, a shot of Detroit! And what a shot it is. This is fairly clear, and quite crisp. The picture is framed well, showing a long string of downtown skyscrapers with the Detroit river in the foreground. The shot itself comes from Windsor, Canada and really takes you there. It's purported to be updated every three minutes. Worth videobugvideobugvideobug

Eagle Harbor -- This shot is one of those that really, truly takes you into a locale. In this case, it's the rocky, rugged shoreline of Lake Superior. You feel like you want to pick up a rock and skip it across the cold-looking water. It appears to be updated every 15 minutes or so, a plus. Worth videobugvideobugvideobug

Howell -- A picture of downtown Howell, what looks like a typical America main street. Camera quality is a bit blurry, but, hey, America was built on Main Street, wasn't it? videobugvideobug

Muskegon -- Visit the lighthouse in Muskegon on Lake Michigan. These three cameras, part of a Meteorological Observations site, updates every 15 minutes. Click on the image for a larger version of the cam, althought the larger it is the less clear it is. It's a beautiful shot (especially on a sunny day), yet not a lot of movement. videobugvideobug +

Petoskey -- This cam peers down onto Lake Street (aptly named) in this beautiful little town that sits on the shore of Lake Michigan. This site actually offers three cams, but this one seems to have the most visibility. videobugvideobug +

Sault Ste. Marie -- Here, there are four snowy shots of Soo Locks. I am not at all familiar with the area and not much is said about the cams, so I can't offer more info. The page reloads automatically about every 60 seconds ... I think the one most worth looking at is the one from the Davis building. Clicking on the image will take you to a larger view. videobugvideobug

St. Joseph -- This downward-looking shot of a swivel-trestel bridge that acts as the entrance to Benton Harbor, although the camera is advertised as moving and zooming this picture it is so charming it's hard to imagine a need to move it around. I don't know why, but this one struck me as very nice -- maybe because it's unlike any other I've come across. videobugvideobugvideobug
