The Sunburn Camera

A CBS 2 News Special Assignment

Special Assignment logoImagine getting a look at your skin in ten years, a glimpse of the future through the lens of a camera.

The Neutrogena skin company is using a customized camera to do just that. Their Polaroid takes a picture using ultraviolet light. Simply put, it sees below the surface.

Pose for the UV camera and see where the wrinkles are -- for people who soak up the sun, it isn't always a pretty picture. CBS 2 News goes on special assignment to take a look into the future.

Special Assignment: The Sunburn Camera originally aired Monday, May 12 at 11 p.m.

Ever wish you could see your skin's future? CBS 2 News did, using a special camera, and found that the future can be frightening. Sun damage is not always visible, but it can be disfiguring - or worse. Skin cancer is on the rise, and although it is treatable, many people don't know how to spot it or take enough steps to prevent it.

Channel 2000 has compiled some resources about skin cancer, sun damage, and sunscreen to help provide you with information on how to prevent, find, and treat skin cancer.
